Who we are

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the Website, we may collect:

• Contact details you give us directly — for example, your name and email address, if you sign up to our newsletter, fill in the project questionnaire, or book a call with us.
• Technical and browsing data — such as IP address and general browsing behaviour, collected automatically by our hosting provider and any cookies in use (see clause 05).

We do not collect payment information on this Website. We do not currently sell anything directly through the site, and any fees for recording sessions are handled separately, outside the Website.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Respond to enquiries made through the project questionnaire
• Send newsletters to people who have signed up, via Hostinger Reach
• Arrange calls booked through TidyCal
• Maintain and improve the security and performance of the Website

Who we share it with

We use the following third-party tools to run the Website and our services. Each processes data on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:

• Hostinger — our web host, and provider of Hostinger Reach, our email newsletter tool
• Fluent Forms — the form plugin used for our project questionnaire
• TidyCal — the scheduling tool used for booking calls

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where required by law.

Cookies

The Website may use cookies necessary for its basic functioning (for example, remembering your language preference). We do not currently run analytics or advertising cookies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how the Website functions.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as it’s needed for the purpose it was collected, and in any case no longer than 3 years from your last interaction with us (for example, your last email open or reply), unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time — see clause 08.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from our newsletter). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at david@davidchiversmusic.com.

If you believe your data protection rights have not been respected, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés), France’s data protection authority, at www.cnil.fr.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always show when it was last revised.
